Referral process
You need to be referred by either your GP, Key Worker or School Counsellor. The referral will be passed on to Marsha Miles who in turn gives me the information. You will receive a letter inviting you and your parent / carer / guardian to come into the Mind centre for an informal chat. If you are still interested in joining the group you will be further invited to the following session.

CAN Leavers
Once you have reached over the age of 25 you will no longer be a member of CAN. This can be quite a difficult step to take as being a member for a long time means you will miss your friends and feel that you don’t know what to do next. We are hoping that your confidence and social skills would have increased and that moving on from this group will be less scary. So far, 4 members of the group have left and each was given a leaving card, gift and special evening out just for the leavers. We want to make the move on process a positive and encouraging step forward into the adult world.

Below are a few quotes from the leavers of CAN.

Most enjoyable sessions
Ringos
Eating out
Games evening
Relaxation sessions
Parties
All CAN members agreed that their Confidence and Self esteem has improved

“ It’s good, if you are thinking of joining, you get to do fun activities, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want. People there do not judge you”
